giltner68
June 12th, be patient. You'll notice by now the rain clouds across the lake in Michoacan are "practicing", but not on the N shore yet.
Aquaponicsman
LOL... We heard one in Riberas last night for a long time. The only thing I can figure is that Global warming is messing up their circadian rhythm/clocks, because that rainbird is a month early at best. Mainecoons
They show up around here about the same time every year and that is often a month before any significant rain. I believe their appearance is more about temperature than any mythological connection with actual precipitation. Checking the references on the topic seems to confirm that temperature is the main determinant of when they emerge and start "singing."
giltner68
In NE they sing when it's 6 weeks to the first frost.

bezerk
My bet is the rains start June 10, just a bet!
johanson
I always bet the 12th or 13th. Sometimes I'm close but never right
MyHomeSweetHome
I heard them last month in upper Chapala...maybe the rainy season will start earlier this year. It got hotter sooner than any other year we've had since we've lived here, over 10 years now.
