gwynne
A friend who just got home from the hospital is in need of nursing care. The most important is moving him......bed to chair.....chair to shower etc. His wife is not strong enough to do this. Hopefully this is a temporary situation. I know several female nurses, but no male nurses. Any ideas?

lakeside7
Maybe a short stay in one of the local nursing facilities would be a good alternative? Many of my friends have done that after post operations etc.
Al Berca
There is no good alternative to recovering in your own home, if possible.
JayBearII
I think the medical supply store on the west end of Ajijic on the carretera near the wine store keeps a list of nurses, and I think one is male. But this info is based on my memory of 2 or 3 years ago!
suegarn
Of all the caregivers we had when my partner was ill, one of them was male. He was extremely conscientious, and he speaks English as well. His name is Jose and his cellphone number is 331-276-3270. Hope this helps!

Newjersey expat
Remember the term nurse is used here from nurse aide to real licensed nurse. It sounds like the need is for a male aide. Agencies do cost more as do real nurses. I would try Suegarn first. I know a bit about nurse aides. If the first name begins with an M. private post me.
