Talk to Dr. Hector Valenzuela at Quality Care/Medicos Especialistas.

Dr. Valenzuela sends you to a clinic in Guad where that is all they do. He does not do it himself. He told me recently it was 7000 pesos. I understand Dr. Leon has a GI doc come from Guad who does it in his office.

I just wouldn't be comfortable having this procedure done locally.

Thank you for your response.

There is a place on Lopez Mateo that does colonoscopy and my gastro told me the doctor there that interprets the images us very good.. I will have to look up the name..

Do not do it locally, do it in Guadalajara where there are hospitals near by.

I would suggest Dr. Hectir Valenzuela of Quality Care.  I have not had a colonoscopy done in Mexico but have had Dr. Valenzuela do gall bladder surgery as well as consulted with him about other issues and I really liked his treatment manner.

What happened to the colonoscopy place in west Ajijic on the corner of the carretera and Rio Bravo?  I assume it is no longer in business.

Quality Care, Dr. Garcia.  He comes here on Saturday and does the procedures Saturday mornings in Guadalajara for safety reasons.  He specializes in these kind of procedures.

Do you have any idea of the cost and does he put you out completely?  There is no way I could do this under "twilight sleep."

Gracias.

My personal experience is that the procedure itself is no problem, even if only under twilight sleep.  Now the prep is a different story.  Wish I could have done that under twilight sleep . . . or even totally knocked out. ?
