The only one I know of is SOSE security in the back of Aragon locksmith in Chapala. They are at Morelos 172. 765 3252 or  331 041 4247.

I saw a story where some python ate a guy.  They found him inside (or at least what was left of him).

Unlike a dog, they don't bark and you don't have to walk them.  Sounds interesting.......

How do you say "Beware of the snake" in Spanish?

Harry my dear, why do you think that you need a security system if you are in a gated community? We are in a very small gated community (12 houses in far west Ajijic) and we have no security system and it's been quiet and secure here for my 6 years here. Before that, I lived in lower Chula Vista and, while that was much less secure, we had a big iron gate and a bouganvillea hedge, no problems, unless you count the internal condo wars. Where the heck are you moving?

Wherever you're moving Harry, best of luck to you and Chris. You guys arrived in Ajijic exactly one day ahead of us in 2002. Your current home is gorgeous so you must have good reasons. We hope to be up for a visit this year and we usually bump into you somewhere. If you are in PV give a shout.

We are just moving to the burbs, a mile out of town. We were suburbanites all our lives and after 15 years as townies we miss our roots. We have always had a security system; it just seems a matter of course?

I would go with SOSA as well, can't help growing up in a family where Dad is a master locksmith. Senior moments will most likely involve accidently locking yourself out of the house anyways. His brother is also a locksmith.

Sweet suburbia life, huh? Here is some soundtracks for those tranquil summer evenings. Mostly in Spanish, all impeccable musicianship from the sixties, seventies, whenever. There is way of downloading these podcasts, but I haven't figured it out.

Sorry I cannot help you with the security system Harry but I want to wish you happy times in the "burbs"  :-)  I was following your move to Mexico through your blog since the beginning because we were in the process of doing the same .(That was somewhere on turn of the century,16 years ago?) Only you did it and we did not. We moved to Vancouver Island and decided to go with the winter snowbirding instead. Although, I might have had some correspondence with Chris and we stayed with your friends (in the early years) we've actually never met.

Cheers and all the best to both in the gated community.

Hopefully you will get some more serious advice on the security systems here.

As you know there is no blanket policy for home security.   Within a gated community I would want a strict policy in place for admittance to the grounds to be adhered to by the guards operating 24/7.   I would have the wall surveyed on the outside to see if there is a build up of soil or anything in place to climb over the compounds walls.   A Gated Community is not worth buying into without these basic security provisos in place.    I would then think you should look out the types of criminal infractions you envision which necessitate a security system.  Modus Operandi may dictate the type of security system you need.  I would suggest a security professional look at your situation and suggest a plan of action.

El Bartman it is not that complicated. I doubt if a professional would know much more than somone that is very aware of their surroundings. I live in a gated community and have a system like the one HarryB is looking for.
