Mainecoons
Our cat Max went out to the back yard as per his usual after his morning nap and has not been seen since. He didn't come home for his evening snack or return home last night. All the adjacent properties and streets have been checked. Please keep an eye out for him and call us if you see him: This is a complete mystery as he never went very far at all, for some years now. He should be somewhere in the vicinity of Constitucion or 16 de Septiembre between Juan Alvarez and Aldama. 766-3225 cell 3312896419 Thanks

Natasha
In case he's still missing, you know the drill --- posters IN SPANISH in your front gate, and at both ends of your street. Largest words on the poster "RECOMPENSA". Photo will help. Also go out at night after things are nice and quiet. Take your flashlight. Call him. Rattle food bag. Call him again Listen. Look in every little nook and cranny you can find. Cats can be incredibly still when they're frightened. Fingers crossed for you and for Max he has not fallen victim to you-know-who
Mainecoons
Yes, did the posters for several blocks around and handed them out to the local Mexicans. This is the cat that when trapped and dumped 20 miles away made his way back. He's a great escape artist.
Mainecoons
He showed up this morning a little dirty but otherwise none the worse for wear. We have no idea where he went for two days but have a suspicion he got out the front and had trouble getting back in. His leash got a lot shorter today. Mainecoons
Thank you all for your help and good wishes. He does it again, he'll be up on this board for adoption, that butthead! What threw us off is that he's never gone off in an afternoon and disappeared for two days. His usual annoyance is to go off after he's fed his face in the evening and come sauntering back at 2AM or so, requesting in a very loud voice to be let in so he can sack out on the bed. We've had a serious illness and a lot of disruption around here, that may have triggered the change in behavior.

So glad to know he is home.
Mainecoons
Life with a Maine Coon is never dull and often difficult because this cat is smarter than the staff (us).

Natasha
If you can manage it, try and keep him strictly indoors for a while --- otherwise his roaming further afield could be a really hard thing to get under control. Yes -- he will be mad at you --- but better mad than dead! HAPPY he's home! And hope your house gets back to normal soon.
