Adults only hotels

Many/most [the ones that are actually busy] will not rent you a room for more than 4 hours on Friday or Saturday and sometimes Sunday until late Sunday night. Only Monday to Thursday are they usually available for travellers. "Moteles de paso" is what they are callled.

My all-time favourite resort chain is Excellence Resorts.  They have adult-only all-inclusive resorts under the brand 'Excellence' in Playa Mujeres and in Playa del Carmen, and also 'The Beloved Hotel' in Playa Mujeres.  And they have a family resort called 'The Finest' in Playa Mujeres as well.  They recently opened two more Excellence Resorts in the Dominican Republic.

Does anyone have "first hand" experience staying at one of these  "adult only" resorts? When and where. TIA.

Yes, I've stayed at Excellence Resorts many times.  Their hotels are definitely five-star luxury!  Here's some links to TripAdvisor reviews....

You still didn't tell me when you were at each. It would be nice to know, to see how current your stays were. TIA

Really?  If you must know, I stayed at EPM as recently as last spring.  I'm not sure why you'd need to know that though.  If you read the TripAdvisor reviews, you can get the opinions of people, some of whom have JUST returned from their vacations!

Just trying to see if the information here is current. I have found that some post about experiences over a year ago, and things and security issues can change in a few days. I'm interested mostly in info from just a very few months ago( or few days), but thanks anyway. :)

As I said before, please check the TripAdvisor listings.  That is going to be the most current information you can find about any hotel or resort!  Some people even write their reviews while they're still at the resort, so you can't get any more current than that!
