hkrause 29
We have the calling plan with Telcel that's supposed to allow calls to/from the US and Canada. We were able to call a US phone from Mexico, but are unable to make calls when traveling in the US. Is there some trick that will allow the Telcel phone to be used there? Do we have to enter a code or something to turn that feature on? Any assistance would be appreciated as we're in the US now and unable to call. Thanks! Heather
John Shrall 331
Your carrier should be T-Mobile as soon as you get to the US. It should appear on the screen or settings. If you want to call back to Mexico you have to add the +52 to the phone number and if it is a cell a 1 before the area code. If all of your US numbers in your contact list carry a +1 before the area code they will work without any modification. At times I had to put the phone into airplane mode, wait for the carrier name to disappear and then turn it off. The phone would then search for a carrier.
Cronopio 25
Last time I was in Northern California my Telcel phone was mostly useless -- because I was outside of T-Moblile's coverage area. Could be your problem too.
Zeb 465
I have had no luck making any calls into Mexico from the US with my TelCel minutes that are supposedly good for all of North America.
Mostlylost 1,441
Try turning the phone off sobit reboots in the USA. Usually solves network connection problems.
