757
Does anyone know of a Podiatrist who makes house calls in the Chapala area? I would appreciate a reference and telephone number. Two clients in the house needing care.
Floradude
There is no college of Podiatry in Mexico so there are no Podiatrists in Mexico. Dr.Leon told me this some years ago. Of course there are a variety of people who do take care of feet.
Newjersey expat
Isn't Dr. George a podiatrist. ? He use to be next to Integrity.
congodog
I think Floradude is right. It's not clear to me that Dr. George is actually a podiatrist. If someone knows, I'd like to know. I've had two of the foot specialists work on my ingrown toenails over the last year and I'm not seeing any improvement, so I'm wishing there were podiatrists. CHILLIN
There are medical doctors who go on to specialize in podiatry. Like a General Doctor. Surgery no, but they are part of a surgical team, most likely the one putting it together. Dr. George is a medical doctor, who also teaches/clinics other doctors who are interested. I believe it is a serious offence in Mexico to call yourself "Doctor", especially in the medical context. Doctor, in the "P.H.D. Doctorate" sense seems to be a uniquely U.S. thing. Dr. Laura, is a Biologist, PHD on mouses and mazes. Dr. Phil, a Psychologist, PHD on jury selection.
