Oatsie
There is a City Express (https://www.cityexpress.com/en/express/hotels-mexico/jalisco/guadalajara/aeropuerto) just north of the airport and a Hampton Inn (https://www.cityexpress.com/en/express/hotels-mexico/jalisco/guadalajara/aeropuerto ) and Holiday Inn Express a little further north of that (https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/guadalajara/gdlop/hoteldetail)
liquipure
If you plan is to stay in Ajijic, just come straight to Ajijic. By the time you go to another hotel, etc you would almost be in Ajijic. But tell the hotel/ B&B that you have a late arrival.
Mainecoons
Taxis to take you to Ajijic are there very late at night. As suggested just arrange for late arrival here. Only about a 30 minute ride here in the late evenings after the airport and road traffic has died down. Very quick.
crynoutloud
Thanks all, Good advice to consider. I just thought if I could avoid travelling at night , I would.
Canada-Mike
One tip: If you are taking an airport taxi rather than being picked up by an Ajijic taxi, make sure you have the exact directions to your B&B. Many Guadalajara drivers do not know their way around Ajijic.
pappysmarket
And as former Ajijic B&B owners, do NOT assume the driver can read written directions, even in Spanish. Be prepared to speak those directions in Spanish. Been there with guests who had problems.
