Ezzie
If they don't come with their roots - they aren't "live" anymore.
JayBearII
Some years ago, missing having a Christmas tree and thinking that the semi-dead ones at SuperLake did not qualify, I bought a cedar tree in a large pot and decorated it. It lasted several years, in ever larger pots. The gardener moved it from one side of the inner patio to the other seasonally, to avoid too much sun. I left it behind when I moved. Finally gave away most of the tree decorations last year, along with the creche figurines. Now I make do with wreaths (I have a large collection) and lots of poinsettias (the final touch--but not until about Dec. 10--until then, the nurseries can take care of them!).
