Lost Dog
Having a great time visiting Ajijic for the first time this week. Met some very helpful expats who took time to educate me about moving to and living in Lakeside. Regarding attempting to gain Permanente status, I might visit the nearest Mexican consulate to me in the US to start the process. Do we need an address in Mexico before being eligible for Permanante status? Just beginning the search for a place to live and will take some time to accomplish. Thanks. Mainecoons
No. You can apply right off for Permanente, the financial requirements are higher. I'd consult the specific Consular office for what they want to see as it seems to vary somewhat among them.

I will visit them when I get back next week.
