Sandrita
Dors anyone have an idea of what the going rate is for a good tour guide on a daily basis? Muchas gracias.
tomgates
Not sure about a guide. Perhaps your hotel could set you up with one. When we spent a week there a couple years ago, we looked at where the local tour companies took all their clients plus checking the guide books on recommended sites, and we took each of the several hop on\hop off double decker buses and got off at the sites we had a made a list to visit. You need at least a week as the Anthropology Museum and the pyramids are easily a whole day in and of themselves.

Thanks so much for your lovely words! I am indeed in Mexico City and do give culinary tours--my clients really love them. I come highly recommended by both Lonely Planet and Fodors, as well as Chowhound. In addition, if you want something other than a fantastically fun market/food tour, I can definitely recommend someone. Just let me know. My email is patalarga@gmail.com. Thanks again, mexpat06!
