Internist & Gastroenterologist needed

Zeb

Recommended Posts

We are looking for highly skilled Internist and Gastroenterologist.  Need someone who can handle a person with multiple medical issues, which makes the whole thing quite complex.  We will go into Guadalajara to get a great doctor.  If anyone has recommendations, we'd appreciate it.

No, Dr. Valenzuela is at Quality Care.  I believe he and the cardiologist, Dr. Briseno did practice for a short time at Integrity Clinic but then left and formed their own clinic with other professionals from Guadalajara.  Dr. Daniel Briseno is the brother of the cardiologist and is an excellent gastroenterologist that is very good at handling multiple physical problems.  He only comes about once a month at this point as he is still coming from Mexico City for the next 2 years until he finishes up with training in certain specialties.  When I saw him initially he spent 3 solid hours with me as my case was very complicated.  He took over my care after surgery with Dr. Valenzuela.  They have me feeling better than I have in many years.

Dr. Valenzuela is very good also, plus they have an excellent associate they also use in Guadalajara though I do not remember his name.  This associate does the testing such as colonoscopies, etc. which Dr. Briseno will do once he is here full time.

I agree with Dr. Jose Haro Fernandez.  2 years ago my 87 year old Mom was having problems.  Dr. Haro came on a Friday night,  drove in from Guadalajara just to see her.  he recommended surgery, drove my Mom and myself to Del Carmen Hospital,  in his own car....stayed with us until she was admitted,  performed the surgety, by this time it was after 11 p.m. On Saturday, he came to visit and check her twice. He gave me his personal cell number if I had any questions. Came again on Sunday morning to release her.  She never had problems again.   Last year he removed my gall bladder,  absolutely no pain.  And, each time I have seen him at Integrity Clinic, he always remembers me, and asks about my Mom.

Dr. Valenzuela, Quality Care.  766 1870. He comes to Ajijic Monday afternoon.  He is excellent. Also excellent surgeon.

Another huge vote for Hector Valenzuela - he is incredibly caring, a great surgeon and really good at sorting out gastro problems.  We also have great faith in Dra. Gaby (Ana Gabriel) Flores as an internist.  The Drs. at Quality Care share information with each other over our problems when they know they are both treating the same patient - that way we don't end up with conflicting prescriptions.

We are so lucky to have this level of health care available to us.

Another vote for Quality Care. Dr. Hector Briseno has assembled quite the team, and they are very proud, as they should be, of their medical team. Agree that Dra. Gaby is an extraordinary doctor with an extraordinary personality. This a group of gifted healers, whereas at Integrity I was left with the impression that it was all about the money.

I have had both routine and emergency gastro-surgical interventions by Drs. Valenzuela and by Dr. H. Briseño for multiple cardiac stent placements. All were successful and I continue to do well a few years later; more comfortable than I expected, and I sure wish they were both available to me here in Tucson.

So, add my votes for Quality Care/Medicos Especialistas.

Please decide if you need a gastroentorologist or a surgeon.  I used the Dr. Briseño who is GI doc and he helped me immensely.  I had previously seen Dr. Valenzuela and he didn't help much but he is really a surgeon and that is not what I needed.  The Briseño you want is the brother  of the cardiologist.

I'm a bit confused now as to which doctors do what, other than the gastro doctors.

Dr. Valensuela and Dr. Lupita Cevalos, Internist

.  At the moment, we don't know if we will need a surgeon.  I know we need an internist to start and likely a nephrologist.  So, Valensuela and Cevalos are internists at Quality care, yes?
