Travis
I see nothing on their Facebook page, but I'm not fluent in FB, in fact I hate it, and don't look closely. Below is the Facebook page of the folks who put on the event last year. https://www.facebook.com/foodtruckgdl/

Food truck fest rolls into Ajijic Published: 07 July 2016 Written by GR Staff Here’s some great news for local foodies and a dire warning for weight-watchers. A caravan of food trucks will roll into Ajijic’s Cruz Azul soccer field on Saturday, July 16 to set up for business in a full-day offering of tempting taste treats and other pleasures. The site is located on the south side of the highway opposite Plaza Bugambilias, with entrance on Calle Revolución, the weekly tianguis street. The event will run from noon to 10:30 p.m. Admission to the grounds is set at 20 pesos for adults, free for children age five and under. Non-stop musical entertainment, open-air movie screenings and a recreational area for kids will add spark to the party atmosphere. According to Chapala Grandes Eventos coordinator Memo Cuevas, around a dozen food truck operators have confirmed participation in the gastronomic happening. Menus will include BBQ ribs, hamburgers and sandwiches, seafood dishes and other mouth-watering goodies. Spaces are also available free of charge to local restaurateurs, home chefs and food suppliers interested in getting in on the action. Bisbee Gal
From today's Guadalajara Reporter: Food trucks put on brakes; Chupinaya race definitely ON Published: 14 July 2016 Written by GR Staff The Ajijic Food Truck Fest scheduled for Saturday, July 16 has been put on hold until further notice. Chapala’s Grandes Eventos office announced the postponement on Wednesday due to the latest weather forecast predicting heavy rain storms over this weekend. Runners are on track for Sunday’s 20th annual Chupinaya Mountain Race which, as always, will take place come rain or shine. Competitors will line up for the 13.8-kilometer “For Savages Only” long race, leaving the starting line at the Ajijic plaza at 10 a.m. The shorter recreational 6.5-kilometer run begins 15 minutes later. Travis
Boo. Thanks for posting the cacellation/postponement info. For some reason, I've never had confidence this thing was going to happen as announced by the muni gob. Last year they had posters up around town a couple of weeks in advance. This year......nothing. Mainecoons
That's sorta silly. If anything this weekend is going to be sunnier than the past week and it has already started out that way with sun most of the day today. Anyone who watches the satellite views carefully could have figured this one out. Why do I have this feeling the weather was just an excuse and the real problem is that once again our local government didn't have its act together? It will probably rain some tonight as a result of the stronger heating of the atmosphere today because of all this sunshine.
Natasha
Actually, MC, anyone who watched Guadalajara Channel 6 news (Telecable) this morning would have seen Joe the weatherman say there was a very good chance of rain both today and tomorrow....... which as we all know did not materialize.... yet
Mainecoons
There's always a chance of rain here at this time of year. Nothing new and nothing out of the ordinary. Events happen regardless. How much rain you see out there tonight?
ComputerGuy
I've never heard of a public event of any sort being cancelled due to rain in advance since I came to Mexico. I have been here when the Chili CookOff got soaked out for two days straight, but went on anyway. The same year, Easter weekend and 4th of July celebrations got soaked, and carried on regardless. Definitely, this call is about something else. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
hensley
Well another weatherman being paid to lie about the weather. Been a real nice weekend. We also panicked and pushed our sale 1 hour later and didn't need to, but the crowd did not let us down, they were lined up for a whole block waiting to get in since the weather turned out so nice. holdrja
We went to the soccer field on Saturday, looking for this event - all locked up tight. Read the Guad Reporter Saturday night and found out about the indefinite postponement. Sigh.
lcscats
Well the airshow was postponed until better weather was predicted so why not food trucks?
ComputerGuy
Yeah, but the airshow postponement came the afternoon before, when the weather was already bad. And, they gave the new date. There was no bad weather or reports of bad weather for the food truck thing, three days before the date, and no other date was announced.
