Sometime after closing last Friday evening and setting the alarm system, someone or two managed to get a hole in the ceiling, anchor a line, and come down over the parrilla in the main dining area. He or they knew how to beat the monitors to get into the bar, cashier and business area. Did a number on that area and pryed open the cash box took our float, all our Apple tablets that the waiters use and we use to put music throughout the restaurant, plus helped themselves to the most expensive liquor.

We are thankful that they were afraid of setting off the monitors in the main area so no damage there. They had a sense of humor as they left $5 pesos in the destroyed cash machine, plus the new screwdrivers they used to pry everything open.

We are having our alarm system updated including more, and more sensitive monitors installed.

To help us get back "on the road again" we are going to have 2 Happy Hour days Wednesday and Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM with  House Wine and Margaritas @ 2 for 1 plus live music for your dancing pleasure.

Hoping to see you anytime and thanking you in advance for thinking of us.

Muchas Gracias Mike really appreciate your best wishes,  but we are considering ourselves very lucky compared to some of the robberies and home invasions that have happened  here lakeside, with some even involving bodily injury and death.

May we all look out for each other and be safe.

Your right that's what Willie said but we don't even look like a bank never mind having a smidgen of the money a bank would have. I hope these despicable crooks take pappysmarket's advice and leave small business and ordinary homeowners alone, and we really hope they get caught before they hurt someone physically or those who cannot afford the loss. Banks will survive not so true for small business or poor homeowners without insurance. We had no insurance as it is almost impossible to get and the cost is prohibitive, if you can find an insurance carrier. We looked into it when we first opened.

Yeah less money but less risk of being caught. Sounds like these slimeballs figure playing "small ball" is safer than going for the home run. I surely hope they come face to face with somebody that is just waiting for them.

So sorry to hear this. All best wishes!

To enter and burglarize so successfully, the crooks must have cased the restaurant first. Or perhaps, a delivery person or staff member clued them in? One can be a basically honest person, but owe money, and sometimes this results in pressure on someone who knows the place. This happens with homes, too. You are doing the right thing to secure the premises more thoroughly--they can come back if the pickings were good.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hopefully this will be the last time we ever have to go thru an experience put on us by as Computer Guy says " those awful bastards". We have completely done every thing we can to make our defense better, plus we know how and from where they attacked

We again wish to thank you all for your kind words and support, the thing that bothers us the most is thinking, what good the money spent on security could have done for the poor.
