Noise - time and level parameters

Recommended Posts

I did try to search this but there has been so much on the topic that culling out the rules on the hours a business can have noise and the measurable level has been difficult.

Does anyone have them at hand to share.  I would appreciate it.  Our local noise place has recently begun to start new sets of music at 11:30 whereas they used to finish about that time.  I realize they need to do more to get business in the doors and do not begrudge them the evening, but this is too late and too loud.  So we in the neighborhood need to begin to keep records.

That is helpful..................unfortunately for about the 3rd weekend there has been partying inside the business after it closed, with music and screaming which finally stopped this  morning at 4:30 am. I am not sure the principals of the business know that this after hours activity is becoming regular.  Probably time to get the neighbors together to have a chat about mutual consideration.

Speak with the owners and ask for their assistance. If they don't respond positively the man to call at city hall is Hugo Herrera. he speaks english and perhaps he can go with you to speak with the owners.

they work 24/7. Hugo's office is in the City Hall 7655600. He speaks english and lives in Ajijic. His men are enpowered to shut down events. The police are not - they can only ask that noise be toned down

The Mexican people have a long history of respect for the law and consideration for the rights of others.

Only about 95 percent of them.

addtocart posts on mexconnect and insidelakeside, he/she has never had a good thing to say about Mexicans.

Much less than 95%. Often they don't trust the police and are afraid of them but they have little respect for the law.

Hugo is head of the department . That is the general city hall number. Once you get in touch with him, he will arrange with you to send out his inspectors who are trained to use the decibel meters. There is always a department member on duty.

Appreciate the advice but the problem has been and gone. But if no one answers the phone how do people get in contact while an event is happening? But want to try and clarify the situation so it doesnt happen in the future. We will call him and make appointment to see him.

seems this is going around in circles as it has for years. when an event is/was shut down, OR the music lowered please let us know. there could be many "one off" events. get it?
