CBGUY
Just got back in town....good to be home! Does anyone know if Yve's is still doing Reuben Sandwiches? I'm really hungry and liked his a lot.

maw7815
It's really easy to make your own Ruben now that Costco & Super Lake are selling deli style corned beef slices! Just buy some sauerkraut and swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing to make it and don't forget the Kosher Pickle spears to go along with them. Yum- I think I'll make these for our supper tonite. maw
CBGUY
I tried Costco corned beef and thought it was pretty dry. I'm assuming that Super Lake buys their corned beef there as well, and, it ain't cheap, about $220 for 720 grams!
desertdave
Best Reuben around here is at Paninos. She uses the New York Rye Bread and buys her corned beef in a small specialty store in Guad. It's not like you'd get in a good Jewish Deli up north, it's certainly closer!
Wookie
For us the best Reuben is at Cocinart on Constitution. There is about 100% more meat than you get on the Reuben at Paninos.
ComputerGuy
I'm not sure who's idea of corned beef it is that CostCo carries, but the same with their pastrami: just an approximation. But being from Ottawa, where smoked meat is a thing of wonder, and is so popular you can buy it in no-name boil-in-a-bag packs of four, I am probably used to something a little better. I have not tried the Reuben at Cocinart; this gives me something to look forward to, Wookie.
5Jacks
Nay on Panino's reuben. I need to try CocinArt's next, but so far C2 (C squared) gets my vote for best in town.
CBGUY
I agree, Cydney (c2) by far has the very best Reuben in town. She also serves an old fashioned Chili-Dog and Root Beer float which Sandi and I both love!
CBGUY
When I started this thread it wss Saturday and c2 was closed so we went to Yve's. Let's just say that the Reuben was a lot different than the last time. Probably won't order again!
kam
Reubens are one of my favorite foods in the world. C2s are only okay. Cocinart's win hands down/
gogirl
Cafe Negro (not Black Coffee) has two Rueben sandwiches. They are very good. Along with everything else.

CBGUY
Not quite 2 (long) blocks towards the lake on the street that runs along side of Farmacia Guadalajara. Great sandwiches and, imo, the best fries in town. It's also fun eating there as Cydney is a great hostess!
justsayin
Cocinart has a fabulous Ruben sandwich and Panino's Ruben is also very good.
Al Berca
I like the Reuben at Mel's which comes with home made cole slaw and made from scratch fries.
tomgates
Not thousand island dressing but rather Russian dressing.
