donandjim
Where is the best place in Ajijic to exchange U.S. dollars for pesos? I know the airport is usually a bad idea.

conejorapido
PM me with your contact information. I can use some US cash and I'll give you the yahoo rate on the given day of exchange which is better than Multiva or Intercam

tomgates
I use ATM's. Bancomer has the lowest alien ATM fee, closely followed by HSBC.At about 33p for a $7000p withdrawal, that equals 6 basis points. Most of the exchange houses are more like 2 to 3%, or 200 to 300 basis points.
RVGRINGO
But, isn‘t the ATM fee the same, regardless of the amount withdrawn? If so, your comparison lacks validity, as once can withdraw 10-15,000 pesos for the same fee; fee, not rate.

lcscats
Ask your friends many of us exchange Pesos for dollars for when we travel up north. Good deal for both parties. Cl Banco is in the mall across from WalMart.
