JNPetrusek
We are driving back home to the US at the end of this month (March) or the first week of April on a two day trip (stopping in Matahualo overnight) and crossing back through Laredo for customs, etc. Anyone got a suggestion on the best day of the week for this trip? Easter is on March 27 - will that have any bearing on our timeframe?? Thanks! BTW - We will be returning.... just need to go and close down things at the house in SC. How could we NOT return to all of the wonderful friends and fun of Lakeside?!?!?
jrod
In my experience, crossing either way around Semana Santa and spring break in the US is a zoo if you cross at Bridge II because the Inmigration line (and you'll also need to remove/redo your TIP in a separate line) is one line in and out and that time of year is horrendous: we once waited 4 hours at 6 am. So, to avoid the absolutely awful traffic, use the Colombia (Solidarity bridge) crossing during their open hours (8 am to midnight) and get your return TIP sent by mail to your SC address while you are in the US. We find Sundays the best day to cross because there is less freight traffic. Can't respond to Easter Sunday, tho, altho I'd expect early am crossing to be easier due to church services.
