Learn the mysteries of breath and how it can alter how you think and relax you. how breath can create better immunity etc Learn the middle breath also known as the lateral breathing 12 noon at Maria Isabel restaurant, Free just buy lunch. talk held after moving meditation class that starts at 11AM and ends a 12 noon Waynes Middle Breathing, The sequence: · Place both hands on your lower back, sitting or standing, just below our ribs. · Breathe in through your nose; out your mouth or nose. Hold your stomach in (thinking you are touching your belly button to the spine a light tension of stomach muscles.) · Pause for a moment. Fell the expansion laterally of your lower lungs against your hands · Slowly and evenly breathe out, feeling your lower lungs expanding against your hands. · Aim for the out-breath being longer than the in-breath. · Pause for a moment or two before you take the next breath in. · Be mindful of the sounds and sights around you, Birds singing etc, being aware of your breath. · Focus on feeling your hands being moved by the lateral movement of your lower lungs · Do this middle breath moving meditation for about 5 minutes or more three times a day. · There is no or very little perceivable movement upper lung or diaphragm below, all movement is felt in the lower lungs in the low back.. · Let yourself breathe at your natural pace and frequency, with longer out breath, at least three times as long as the in breath. Middle, Lateral or intercostal, breathing emphasizes the lateral expansion of the rib cage while maintaining a consistent inward pull of the deep abdominal muscles during both inhalation and exhalation. This is in contrast to the type of breathing that emphasizes the lowering of the diaphragm during inhalation (often called diaphragmatic breathing), with the abdominal muscles relaxed so they are allowed to push outward.
