ComputerGuy
Have to arrange a last-minute drive to the bus station in Tonala tomorrow (Tuesday Feb 16) around 5pm... I know taxes run about $450... does anyone have a driver they know who could accomplish this for maybe a little less?
dichosalocura
If you are looking to do it cheap you can take the Chapala bus to the old bus station for 50 pesos, from there a taxi to the new bus station in Tonala should run you about 100 pesos, and if you get off at the Alamo instead of going all the way to the old bus station, a taxi from there should cost you 50 to 60 pesos. So the trip shouldn't cost you much over 150 pesos or less. If you want a driver, do a search for Alex Peterson or Manu, they are both highly rated on this board. ComputerGuy
Thanks... yeah, don't want to do the bus/taxi thing... too much going on. I tried Alex Peterson at both 331-753-8151 or 333-577-7765, and got a message saying the number hand changed, for the first one, and just beeps for the second one. ComputerGuy
Thanks, all. I will add Manu to my list. Gotta love this board for providing answers when needed. Meantime, I got Manuel Salazar for $500p... Rogelio Lopez, mentioned elsewhere on this board, came in at $700. A tad too high...
bezerk
unlikely to see if below 450 pesos, have you seen price of gas lately and short notice! sorry..
ComputerGuy
And thus I am a happy traveller. I believe the taxis from the airport are now at $450, so this is a good deal.
Joyfull
We picked friends up there today around 3pm. First trip there for us and we got a little lost using our GPS. Not for long though, just part of the Mexican experience. Always get lost the first time you go somewhere. Drive yourself Mike.
ComputerGuy
Sure, I've done it before, but this time I'm the one getting on the bus, and considering the length of the ride ahead of me, I'd just as soon start as easily as possible. slainte39
Someone told me that you can get Uber from the airport or maybe Guadalajara to Chapala for 190. MN. They didn't know about going the other way, but it might be worth checking out for people using public transportation.

dichosalocura
Manuel Salazar and Manu are one and the same. He also runs a very nice coffe shop with a French twist called Chez Manu on Degollado Street a block from Cristiania Park.
norah1997@gmail.com
I am currently looking for a way to Tonala and neither of the two numbers posted appear to be good any more. Any suggestions?
