Remember the proceeds are for a really good cause -- The School for Special Children. The show is being held at the Raquet Club. So, there's lots of parking and the ease of getting there during the holiday season. Roberto's catering staff is providing the wait staff and marvelous appetizers. You can reserve a table for you and all your friends. Plus some changes to the format! The models will mingle with the crowd prior to the auction so you can see the outfits up close. There is a "store" with changing rooms so you can buy some lovely pieces that aren't in the auction. About 15 items will be part of the silent auction, including a painting or two. There will be photos and descriptions posted on the school's website the day before the Fashion Show, so you can get prepared early. Photos and descriptions of each item will be posted at the Fashion Show, so you can make sure you're ready to bid. The auctioneer is Russell Mack whose booming voice and wonderful sense of humor will add a lot to the afternoon. Please buy your tickets soon and support the children and staff at this very special school. Sometimes it takes years to even pay attention to what's going on at Lakeside. There are so many great events happening, but this one has a great reputation and it's even better this year. They named this year's event, "Putting on the Ritz. That's because they've gone all out to update the way it's presented this year. The proceeds go to support the School for Special Needs. It's this Friday, Dec. 4th, at 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. There is a fashion show auction of really high quality, donated items. We'll post pictures and descriptions on Thursday.
