Dentist in Ajijic or Chapala

Of those dentists recommended above...

How does each complete a root canal (do they send you to a specialist or do the work themselves)?

How many of you have had root canals done, and experienced long term (years) success with that work?

Same above question for posts (vs root canals).

Good info to have prior to work being required.

Thank you.

I have had fillings, root canals, crowns, posts and one extraction at Dr. Candy's, and I intend to go back for an implant. She doesn't do the more complicated work herself; she brings in a specialist from Guadalajara (can't remember his name) but the work is performed in her office. I'm very satisifed with her and with the specialist. She speaks English well enough to explain your options in detail. I have been going to her for over 3 years and up to now, all procedures have been successful. Both she and the specialist are very gentle. She is my second Lakeside dentist.

My husband, on the other hand, has been going to Dental Express. They have done crowns and repaired implants which came loose (the implants were not originally put in Lakeside). I think Dental Express may be a little cheaper but I'm staying with Candy because she has a proven track record with me.

Also Dra. Candy was sent all expenses paid by a company last year to S. Korea for special implant training, class room and hands on. They are also sending her to Italy for more implant training, all expenses paid.

She has a specialist come from Guadalajara to do root canals so they are done correctly.

As far as her English, it is perfect. No problema.

Why would Dra Candy need to go half way around the world to South Korea or Italy for training when she can get it right here in Mexico.

I believe the answer is found in the "all expenses paid by the company" part of the story. A company that can send medical professionals on all-expense paid trips around the world is going to have very loyal customers in those grateful professionals. That is my guess anyway.
