Cardiologist at Integrity

Recommended Posts

I have no heart problems but I thought it would be good to establish a "baseline" now, as a reference in the future. In Canada, this is not allowed, if you have no symptoms/family history a doctor cannot order up an ECG or Halter test. In B.C., where I'm from, even with a premium add on insurance (Blue Cross) to the government plan, you cannot pay for it. I would have to go to the U.S. or Mexico, or wait until I developed an actual problem (!!!).

I was under the impression that Integrity did not offer ECG, so I went to Mascaras and paid for one there. No Doctor looked at it. When I brought it back to the GP, she said it was unreadable and that if it was to believed, as Xena wrote, I should be dead by the time I left the hospital! At that time Dr. Briseno was the cardiologist at Integrity. He did an excellent job, with new equipment, and everything is pumping fine.

Dr. Briseno told me he gets tired (and probably stressed) driving in from Guadalajara. He told me his office there was just a short bike ride to his home. I told him how much his services were appreciated here and that I am sure a lot of his patients are counting on him for their continuous well being. Anybody using Dr. Briseno's service should be doing the same - bring him cookies or flowers! My impression is that he truly does care for his patients, his is a true medical man. He opened up Quality Care, for reasons that are none of my business, and his brother is also a specialist there, but not cardio.

Here is another video produced by the AAFP which may be helpful on when seeing a physician for cardiac-related issues. I think that many EXPATS in the area can relate to the patient in the video.

I invite anybody with concerns as the ones stated above invest some time and watch the videos. I hope they help shed some light and provide some guidance through what may be appear to be a MAZE in this Mexican Medical Healthcare system and when being overwhelmed with information from so many sources. That's all I can do on this forum.

Best of luck.
