CHILLIN
An "urban style" taqueria has opened in the food court of the Centro Laguna mall (casino, wings, black coffee, etc). Everything is very clean, the food is great, and it is economical. It is called "Taqueria los Tarascos". It looked a little bit like a franchise. I asked if they were from Guadalajara, he said yes. This is page from the Guadalajara restaurant of the same name. They serve al pastor tacos, as well as many other varieties. They also have takeout if you want to hold your own taco feast party. https://foursquare.com/v/tacos-los-tarascos/4e4ebc4eaeb70f128496671b

Mainecoons
Wow, I'm just amazed at how many GDL food places are showing up here. I guess we've really been discovered.
ComputerGuy
Just a fancier-looking joint, nothing fancy about the food. I prefer the ones on the plaza in San Antonio de T.
Al Berca
Tacos were disappointing. Everything was good except the meat. It was kind of an orange color which I thought meant it had been marinated but it was tough, chewy and flavorless. Now, I am wondering if it was some kind of coloring. 10 pesos a taco. Single wrapped in small corn tortilla. Everything was clean and fresh. Service fast and friendly. If I ever need a quick taco fix I might stop in again. Otherwise, my go to taco place is still the guy that used to be on the Chapala Plaza, but was moved to the sidewalk along with the other vendors when the plaza was renovated. cedros
I thought the tacos were pretty blah.
rckrckr
So-so tacos al pastor - a bit dry with a sliver of pineapple. Although service was fast, I wouldn't call it friendly - indifferent at best.
ComputerGuy
We went again the other day for pastor, because Tuesdays it is half price and we hadn't tried it, and I had a bistek Al Queso. The pastor was so-so, considering the effort they put into it. The bistek was a big pile of taco meat with melted cheese, and bacon and onion. It was tasty, but really just a pile of taco meat for a bigger price at $68p. They have a huge menu, but everything is just a mixup of the same ingredients presented in different ways. Travis
Interesting. I liked the Tacos al Pastor a LOT. Different than what I think of as "traditional" al pastor. The fire-roasted pork also had onions and mushrooms and was covered with cheese on top. I didn't order "Tacos", but rather the plate of taco filling, which is then served with tortillas and salsas, etc. I put the creamy guacamole on top, because that's what my friend -- who calls the place Tacos Fresas 8-) -- said was good. You can order a large plate, or a small one. I got the small for $68. Even the small was more than I could finish….then a good idea occurred to me. Had the rest of it packed to go. The next morning I heated it up in a skillet and plopped it onto some scrambled eggs. FANTASTIC!
