Gilligan
I'm showing a huge difference between what we got in Riviera Alta than the Riberas site. Wondering what folks in upper Ajijic see on their rain gauges. Anyone care to share their readings?
TioBob
2.5 inches right below you in Upper La Floresta.

Gilligan
That sounds about right. Actually my cup is showing over 3" and my fountain is showing an increase by about the same. I'm just looking for others to confirm we got a ton of rain last night, so I don't think I'm losing my mind.
cedros
6/10th of an inch in San Juan Cosala.
desertdave
Over 2" in Chula Vista Norte. It's hard to imagine the difference in Riberas. Maybe our "weatherman" can shed some light.
Mainecoons
It seems to be all over the map. We got about 2 inches in SE Ajijic. Nice! Riberas is showing over 40 inches. They didn't get as much from this one but they've had several that were heavier so it seems to even out.
bradshoe
The amounts of rain collected have always been interesting. The guy up in Rancho del Oro is showing 1.55" for last night but for the year only 32.01" whereas here in Riberas we only got .32" last night, we're at 40.13" for the year. I've seen it raining really hard in Chapala and by the time I drove back to Riberas is was only a sprinkle.
Floradude
2.1 inches, mostly between 5 am and 6 am. This was west of you Gilligan also on Lazaro Cardenas.
Gilligan
Gracias amigos, you have confirmed we got a lot of rain last night. At least some did.
Shelley Ronnfeldt
And here in central Chapala we only got a trace. Less than 1/10".
cbviajero
In Guadalarjara last night the hailstorm was intense,it trashed my plants again..
congodog
Chapala Haciendas was light rain for about an hour. So I'm guessing we're in the lower end (less than 0.5 inch) territory.
ComputerGuy
Highway all through San Antonio and into Ajijic are a mess with stones and dirt. Firefighters were cutting up a big tree across from TelMex; musta come down in the night.
suegarn
As usual, my walking path from El Dorado to SuperLake and Walmart ends up on the carretera again! Every time it rains heavily, my access gets more treacherous and impassable! If they don't fix it soon, I'll be trapped in my community unless I want to take a taxi everywhere I go.....( don't want to do that! )
Mainecoons
Friend in Chapala said it didn't rain much there at all, particularly this morning.
Rocki'sMom
Well, your rain gauges will be full and the streets will have even more debris in the streets tomorrow after the 1hr "toad choker" deluge we just had, and it's still raining. Wookie
Our rain gauge in West Ajijic showed 1 and 3/10ths for last night. It will be interesting to see what the end result of the rain this evening brings.
mudgirl
It's rainy season- if you guys have nothing better to do than talk about the fact that it's raining, you can come help me weed my garden.
Travis
It's rainy season- if you guys have nothing better to do than talk about the fact that it's raining, you can come help me weed my garden. And if you, mudgirl, have nothing better to do than comment that we have nothing better to do than talk about the rain, you can come help me clean my toilets. Cranky much? Yes, it's rainy season. Yes, we get rain during the rainy season. Yes, we've had a really great start to the rainy season (yay!)…but then it tapered off significantly, and hasn't done much for a few weeks. Then it started again, last night. And the rain last night was extraordinarily heavy and fruitful in some locations, including where I live. And it's very heavy again tonight, and it started much earlier than last and hasn't let up. I for one am excited because it means Tépalo is probably flowing with water, and I live very nearby and want to walk up to the waterfalls, which I was unable to do earlier in la temporada. I hope you're getting your share of rain where you live mudgirl (down at the coast, right?). Rain is a good thing, weeds in your garden notwithstanding. Gilligan
I'm showing over 2" tonight, combined with the 3" from this morning I'd say we have done quite well with the rain. A shade off the 2010 total for the year and we still have 3 months to go. Lake should end the year in good shape

Floradude
My gauge in upper Ajijic this morning (Friday) shows 1.75 inches. My satellite (Shaw) was out most of the time from 7 pm to 9:45 pm (when I went to bed). Electricity off once for about 2 minutes.
bdmowers
Travis, illustrating our local microclimates, rain at the Mirasol rain gauge site has been steady during the season, with rains at least every 3 days. With last night`s rain, we now have topped each of the last 8 years totals with more than 42 inches. Reports for the next 10 days are for rain, rain and more rain. With all the tule that has cropped up near the shore this year around the lake, it must be a great year for fish renewal.
