natbug
Can anyone suggest a clean, safe, pet friendly place to overnight halfway between here and Nogales?
howardF
Navajoa is a long 10 hour drive from here, but it's doable in one day if you get an early start. There is a Best Western on the north end of town that I believe is pet friendly. There may be others in the area, too.
natbug
Thanks howardF. I'll look into it. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Islander
Navojoa is your best bet. Plenty of places to stay on the main drag.
El Cartero
Navajoa and also prefer the Best Western on the north of town.
twelveoaks
Can anyone suggest a clean, safe, pet friendly place to overnight halfway between here and Nogales? It is the Best Western Del Rio north end of town just before the bridge and river. Pet friendly and very good on site restaurant and pool.

RVGRINGO
Last October, we left Ajijic at 8AM and were in Culiacan for supper, staying at Motel Paraiso, on Calle Internacionál, where they accept pets, have secure guarded parking at your door and a good restaurant with room service. It was $450 for the night. The next day, we drove from there to Tucson.
rjf1943
You can book the Best Western Del Rio online through the Best Western website and use your credit card.
mudgirl
If you don't want to drive as far as Navajoa, I stayed at the Zar on the inland side of the highway at the south end of Los Mochis. Took pets. Parking lot and guard. Was a few years ago, don't know if it's still there.
Islander
There is also a new hotel/motel north of Los Mochis, right on the highway(on the right side going north) which looks pretty good. We have not stayed there but it looked nice, easy way in and out and seemed to have a guard.
barrbower
Just east of Navajoa, about twenty miles or so, is the town of Alamos where a few gringos have made their lives since just after WW11. A BEAUTIFUL place with several hotel options and the little place we stayed took our dog and also had a great restaurant on site. Do a search and you will see how special this Pueblo Magico is and you might want to spend an extra day instead of hurrying to the border.
copper33
The Zar hotel in Los Mochis is still there. Nice hotel and pet friendly. There is a truck stop next door with gas, a convenience store and a good restaurant. We've stayed there three time - the last being three weeks ago. Safe travels.
