Sonia
Thanks Spencer. Happy to see they start considering a person's background. Very few consulates do a background check.
Intercasa
They only ask so that way if later they found you had one they could say you lied if you didnt disclose or deny you if you said yes.

Sonia
Spencer when one applies at a MX consulate this form is now only in Spanish. Those going to a consulate normally complete in advance. URL says Laredo but applies to any. A woman I have been communicating was very kind to update me. This morning she was presented this form in Laredo and staff assisted in completing it. She will be at lakeside this week and contacting you. See you Soon http://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/laredo/images/stories/docs/visas/sol_visa_esp.pdf saludos Sonia

Megsdad
Newby here, but need help If I'm understanding the new rules correctly....When transferring from temporary to permanent visa, you don't need to leave country, nor meet financial requirements for permanent. Am I close??
RVGRINGO
That is correct. You just need to have taken your foreign plated car out of Mexico, if you have one.
Sonia
Newby here, but need help If I'm understanding the new rules correctly....When transferring from temporary to permanent visa, you don't need to leave country, nor meet financial requirements for permanent. Am I close?? The answer is "yes" to both if you have 4 years and no late renewals etc. I recommend showing your current visa at INM and ask, "can I become a PR at time of expiration". I do this with every client and the answer surprises about 1 out of 10. It is extremely difficult to get back an incorrect payment. Application for PR may be made 1 week before expiration. Spencer is the one to help you locally. saludos Sonia
