cedros
For one of my miradors I need some of that plastic (usually green) mesh that is used to provide shade or privacy. It needs to be custom made with proper metal loops. Does anyone know where you can get it Lakeside? I tried the Prisa/Truper store in Ajijic. They can order it but they can't show me what it would look like. They have access to 80 and 90% protection but I don't know what I need until I see samples which they don't have. lcscats
Shade cloth comes in two different types the better shade cloth are plastic with aluminum sputtered on it and various holes in it according to spec 50/60/70/80 % shade. Alas for a house operation the solid green plastic may look better but nothing performs like the aluminet type heat rejection type. I have no idea what is sold in Mexico. Please let us know what you find. I had a 40ft by 40ft piece of 70% aluminet for desert camping. Put up a couple of easy ups and cover and tie down at ends with tent stakes and bungee cords. Prop up the ends away from the sun for entrance and voila. PVC pipe makes nice light poles. Survived 50MPH winds with this setup. Wish I could find Aluminet here. sparks
Around here most large ferreterias carry a variety of sizes with grommets and seamed in black or green. Custom made sounds like upholstery shop work
El Cartero
If you're looking for a nicely finished product try Quick Blinds and utilize the Sunbrella fabric for uo to 95% shade.

LakeViews
Sunbrella is expensive fabric - the plastic shade tarps with grommets are very affordable. They also make it in a cream color. We paid $500 pesos for a tarp that was approximately 3 meters 7 meters. It is made to order.
nothernewbie
Definitely try Carmen. They made an awning for me and the job was well done and professional. I got the recommendation for her on this board. Carmen's phone number is 376-766-0045.
Travis
Casa de Plomero. I needed a new shade cloth cut to a specific size, with grommets, for an existing car canopy. Went to Casa de Plomero, ordered it, and had it in a week.
cedros
I wondered about Casa de Plomero. I will try it as I haven't had any luck at Amutio or Quick Blinds.
Quinn
The garden store beside 7/11 in Riberas has a few different shade cloths on large rolls. You can se the weight and quality. I am sure she can recommend someone to make the right sized structure.
Natasha
Hardware store behind the plaza in Chapala -- go straight trhu' the light one block more -- made me 90% shade cloth with grommets exactly where I wanted them, for hanging above clotheslines. Also made a drop-down for a friend, grommets as required. Samples are in the store.

RVGRINGO
Go a block beyond the main intersection in Chapala. The hardware store will be on the corner on the left. The proprietess speaks perfect English, if you need it.

RVGRINGO
Go east on Morelos. If driving and parking has not presented itself, turn right on Juarez and circle the block. Park where you can.

thevalerieleigh
Thanks for this info. Our neighbor is finally building on the vacant lot next to us and we've already had to raise our wall to off-set the two windows now facing our garden/pool area. If he decides to continue going up with a Mirador, we'll need this privacy fencing/mesh fabric. Valerie
