Today July 11 at around 10am, is the annual footrace in Ajijic. it is called Chupinaya and it involves a race up the mountain by that name, up to the shrine for the short course or up to the top for the long, and finishing at the Ajijic plaza. all the neighbors stand on the surrounding streets to cheer on the runners. there are some world class runners who compete and also many locals. we took advantage of the mango season and made some fresh mango chutney and boy is it deliscious. also made a beet and tomato subji--vegetable side dish and have fish or shrimp curry on the menu. our garden is very green and fresh,so come on by and enjoy or sit in the front and watch the plaza life. if you're lucky you may get to meet the newest member of our family, my namesake Nancy Mitchel Flores Ibon, our head waiter Juan's first child, a real cutie...and born on my birthday!
