carmelbaloney
Anybody out there consider themselves knowledgeable? I would like a go to person who could identify the odd photo of the interesting things I find here. Sometimes it's a bug, sometimes blood or poop, sometimes a cool sounding bird. With the rainy season upon us I'm seeing all sorts of cool looking crawling things.
HarryB
doesn't really sound like a fun date, sorry
ComputerGuy
I'd like the same thing, but there's no way. Posting photos on here will usually get you an answer. Right now, for example, I can't get a photo of these black birds that are actually steel blue, with beautiful songs when they converse. It seems to be the mating season, as I have them in two gardens.
Yo1
If they are solid steel blue they are probably blue mockingbirds. I have a pair that come to my yard every year.

Google blue mocking bird for photo. Don't they have a beautiful song.

HarryB
We have a robbin who comes to our yard every year and stands at the window taunting our dogs. He loves it - they don't!

MoraAzul
Here is a good online resource for insect ID. http://www.insectidentification.org/ And if you really want to get serious, here's another http://www.amentsoc.org/insects/what-bug-is-this/ Not a fun date, HarryB? Depends on your interests. I find bugs fascinating, always have ever since I was a kid. Most people don't take the time to observe insects like I do but when it comes to bird-watching, nearly everyone shows some interest. Blood and poop, not so much.
