Art Xik Xik - Master Lecture Series featuring "Master Artists & Their Protégés"

July 4th, 2015 at 5 p.m.

Casa de Cultura, Ajijic, Jalisco Mexico

Ajijic, Jalisco – June 1, 2015 - A new art lecture series will provide in-depth opportunities to “hold captive” our local art heroes and heroines for an evening.

An evening of intimate dialogue with local master artists will be the theme of Art Xik Xik. Focusing on local artists of renown, this series will be held in provocative settings throughout our village and surrounding areas. The evenings all start with a fine cocktail reception by some of our best culinary establishments. The featured artist will then present their work and hold a question and answer session afterward.

This month ArtXikXik: Master Art Lecture Series will feature a collection of work from several of our best, local art masters and their protégés. Apt, Ortiz, Lopez Vega, Gonzalez, Zaragoza are just a few of the selected Maestros exhibiting new and traditional pieces, alongside the work of their preferred protégés.

Our exhibit will allow a glimpse into the future, highlighting artists destined to become the next generation of Maestros. Most of the Maestros are Legacy Artists trained at the Neill James Children’s Art Program at the Lake Chapala Society in Ajijic, Mexico.

The evening will consist of grouped exhibitions, lectures by the Masters and their Protégés, living art in progress, music, food, dance and magic. An air of youthfulness will abound.

The number of available tickets for this event will be limited. Tickets are $50 pesos each. Tickets will sell fast.

Tickets to this fine event are available at the Casa de Cultura Gift Shop in Ajijic Plaza and Diane Pearl Colecciones in Ajijic.

Please join us on Saturday July 4th, 2015 at 5 p.m. at the Casa de Cultura, Ajijic Plaza for our opening reception and an evening of innovative art and happenings.

We are currently looking for musicians and performers who are interested in performing, without pay, during the afternoon/evening. The eclectic mix of art, music and spoken word will provide a wide audience and the opportunity for formal publicity.

Please contact Fco. Glez. Nava if you or your group are interested in performing on Saturday July 4th, 2015 starting at 5 p.m. at the Casa de Cultura, Ajijic Plaza for our opening reception and an evening of innovative art and happenings.
