johnnyjones Posted April 21, 2015 Report Share Posted April 21, 2015 Hello, I have been looking into buying a car/ van to drive up out of Mexico which I will be able to take over the border and eventually sell in the US (San Francisco). My problem is apparently I might not be able to register a car in my name as I'm on a Visitor's Visa (180 days tourist)- I'm told what I could do, though, is buy somebody's temporarily imported (us) car that they aren't allowed to drive anymore, having become a residente permanente, drive it over the border with a 5 day 'retorno seguro' pass and register the sale there... this feels quite hopeful, but anybody keen?
