Rony
A couple of days ago, Thomas Sumner (the man who started the Chapala consignment store) passed away. It is an often used cliche, when we lose loved ones, but this wonderful man will leave an emptiness here, like I never witnessed before. Together with his beloved sister, Janie, he helped so many people here, ...... he lit up a room when he entered and it was hard not to like him. The consignment shoppe is still open and there is a little space, with his picture. Dear, sweet Tom and Janie.......on behalf of so many many Lakeside people, thank you for having made this world a more beautiful place and for having been this great role model. I am not religious, but I do hope that together with Janie, Bob and Cookie you will be able to watch over us and to keep us, silly human beings, on the right track. Tony_In_Mexico
Tom was one of the first people I met here. He immediately made me feel welcome and was always a friendly, welcoming figure, eager and willing to help a friend in need. He will be missed.
