ComputerGuy
I just noticed that CostCo sells their own Sharp White Cheddar. Has anyone got an opinion on the difference in quality/flavour, between that and the Tillamook Extra Sharp?
Kyle
The white cheddar is fantastic. A very nice sharp cheddar taste. Our favorite
tomgates
I don't have confirmation of Tillamook making the cheese for Costco's Kirkland brand. There is also a cheddar under the Kirkland brand that is very very close to Tillamook. Costco's unsalted butter tastes much like Tillamook butter too. If you wanted to find out for sure, call Costco's San Diego office, who handles all the exports to Mexican Costco's. 858-812-1400
ComputerGuy
Just got the CostCo white sharp today. Sort like medium Canadian cheddar (either colour). For age and sharpness, I much prefer the Tillamook. But there are times when you don't want an extra "bite", and this Kirkland sharp fills that gap nicely. I'm guessing it's not aged much, thus the slicker texture, too. But that's okay; I know the Tillamook is an aged cheese.
