pappysmarket
Also El Sarape has great chicken soup. On the carretera west of Colon in Ajijic, lake side, closed Sundays.
Travis
The Caldo de Pollo/Chicken Soup at El Chile Verde is delicious, too, and a screaming value at $50 MXN for an enormous serving. Don't worry, it's not spicy (unless you bite into the chile pepper that's usually found floating in it).

Travis
Chile Verde is in Ajijic on Hidalgo, five or six doors west of the plaza, lakeside of street. Tiny place with only 3 tables. They do a thriving take-out and delivery business. Breakfast and mid-day meals only. Closes sometime in the mid-afternoon.

El Saltos
My vote is for El Sarape. It's been great for the entire 10 years we've been here. Same owner, same chef, same good food.
