gary c.
Ten wonderful Mexican women work several days a week at the Community Garden in San Juan Cosala. They are raising vegetables for their families and to sell to others. They also are starting a small nursery of plants and herbs. Each Saturday morning we are open to the public from about 9:30 to 11:30; the entire team is present to work on a new project or keep the ones already underway in good shape. We do so appreciate all who come to support their efforts. This week Theresa Beach brought us already started Swiss Chard which we happily got into the ground immediately. If anyone else has some already started herbs, we'd love to include them in our next project. We are going to start herb gardens that the women can take home for their own cooking, as well as additional ones to have for sale to others. The garden is pretty easy to find. But if you'd like further directions or information, please PM me. I can provide you with detailed directions and information about other ways you can help these dedicated women. Check out the Operation Feed website and newsletter. It has a lot of information about this and other projects. Here's a link to the Community Garden page and from there you can check out the newsletter about all the related projects. https://operationfeedsjc.squarespace.com/community-garden-project/ Carol
