Ezzie
Wow, that's a new one for me. What is a "magnetic" filter?? Does it have strong magnets in it that pulls out chunks of ferrous metal that are water borne??

Ferret
Sheldon, that won't work for the problem that you have. You need some kind of filter system. They DO work if you want to reduce the scale build up of hard water. We had them in our house in San Pancho and also on the pool return lines. In six years, we never had to drain the pool to scrub it down. The taps and tiles in the house were as pristine as the day they were installed. This is the product that we used...GMX magnets. http://clearwatergmx.com/gmxspecs.php His website is actually better than the corporate site which is http://gmxinternational.com/ I vouch for the magnets use on hard water because I've used them. I know of restaurants that have used them on their propane lines and also saved money. I can't explain it and I don't understand it...I just know that these magnets work...and I have nothing whatsoever to do with the company.
Ezzie
Aaah, OK. It isn't really a filter, more of a "water softener" technology.
