El Rincón de Sophia/Sophia's Corner (Formerly The Market Cafe)

Recommended Posts

Due to the last change in management (Shannon Conshue is no longer involved with the restaurant) and the increasing demand for a more varied menu that not only catered to special dietary needs, I decided to change the branding and the menu.

We will now be operating under the name El Rincón de Sophia (Or Sophia´s Corner for the expat crowd), and aside from a few staples from the old menu that people really liked, we now serve Comida Corrida (Mexican equivalent of a Prix Fix) which consists of soup, main dish, rice, beans, salad, dessert and agua fresca for only 55p. The menu varies daily, but you will be able to check what we will have on our facebook page and see if it piques your interest!

For example, today we will have Cream of Tomato and Basil soup, with a choice between Picadillo or Jamaica flower fried tacos, served with rice, beans, salad, Arroz con Leche for dessert and Lemonade with Chia seeds.

The comida corrida will generally consist of very traditional Mexican cooking (not restaurant style, but what Mexicans actually eat at home), with a few variations here and there just to keep things interesting.

We also now serve breakfast! We have 6 different options, which are Omelettes, Pancakes, Enfrijoladas, Molletes, French Toast and Chilaquiles. They all come served with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee, also for 55p.

We will still prepare the HCG meals for people interested in those, but they will be available on a preorder basis.

Please come visit us and try our new concept, you're sure to like it!
