Three members of the family from Mexico City who will be teaching the Mothers to be seamstresses are visiting this weekend and expressed their excitement with the restaurant and the project.

Our address is Rio Bravo #7 which is right across from Sol Y Luna. Our phone # is 376 108 0887 and you must dial the 376 as we are using Telecable for all services.

Parking is not a problem and you will find it plentiful.

Even if your not hungry, why not just come by and sit outside under the giant tree and umbrellas on the patio, and enjoy a refreshing drink and one of David's surprise appetizers. You may even find it included in the price of your drink.

We will be more then happy to give you a tour and share with you what is the mission at La Mision.

We hope to be able to give you a wonderful dining experience while you at the same time help those less fortunate.

Buen Provecho.

David is in charge of both restaurants and will set the menus etc. for both. He has sous chefs at both restaurants that he has total confidence in and he is only one block away from either restaurant. So, if anything is happening at a restaurant that they cannot deal with either by explanation on the cell then he will go to that restaurant and deal with it personally.

David has had his first and very successful Tabarka restaurant in Guad for 12 yrs. and has handled it all the while living permanently and operating a second restaurant in Ajijic. You will see a lot of him at La Mision.

What a treat! Just returned from a delightful meal at La Mision. Happy to say we were their first guests. As always, the building has been and continues to be beautiful. I really like the way the Parilla is open to view Chef David cooking wonderful food.

The meal started with a complimentary Spanish appetizer that was on some sort of flat, crispy bread with an eggplant/tomato/onion topping. Tasty! Also a basket of fresh bread and Chimichurri sauce was delivered shortly after we placed our orders.

We ordered from the menu as well as one of the daily specials. I chose the Vacio. They price their beef cuts (NY steak, Ribeye, Arrachera, Vacio) by the gram. I went with the recommended serving amount of 300 grams and the cost was $49 pesos/100 grams. There were about 6 side dishes from which to choose including roasted red peppers, two types of potatoes, cambray onions, salad and others I can't recall. My husband chose the Osso Buco that came with an unique and flavorful gravy. You choose two of the sides to accompany your main dish. Our two meals plus two soft drinks came to $327 pesos!

Following the meal, we were given a tour to the see the V.I.P. area. Seems they will be offering special packages wherein Chef David will work with you to plan and then prepare a meal for 10 guests. It's a separate more private area where special occasions can be enjoyed.

Aside from the food, service and ambiance being so pleasant, it felt good to know that profits generated from this venture will help some of our less fortunate friends and neighbors. Seems they are working to help train people to learn various skills that can be used to gain employment or to generate income from their own homes.

We walked away happy, full and with smiles. I encourage you to give it a try.

They're open daily with the exception of Wednesday from 12:30 until 9 or so. They are planning to start a Saturday and Sunday Brunch soon.

ENJOY!

Valerie :)

Just a few points to be made, first we have a steak sandwich which includes salad and potato for 45 pesos from 12:30 to 2:00 PM during the week. Second there are other selections one would choose for lunch under 100 pesos. Chef David tested all the beef that the popular restaurants here and in Guad use he knows where they purchase their beef. For example he has a friend who has a very successful steak house in Guad where if one went to it would believe that because of the name of the restaurant that the beef was Argentina, however the owner uses Sonora prime as he believes it is better. David tested that and he also tested USA imported and he has selected US beef.

You will see exactly what you are going to eat, it is not frozen you will select your cut, how much and see it weighed righting front o you so you know exactly how many grams you are getting. Then you will observe your selection go right on the grill.

The lovely couple who were our first customers really did not have what most would call lunch, but what most would call dinner.

We are dedicated to giving you a menu unlike any other venue Lakeside and to make your time spent both delicious and satisfying knowing you are helping the less fortunate.

A very special thank you to all of you who dined with us yesterday, our first day! Your comments and smiles made the entire staff happy, excited and gratified. Even 2 couples became VIP members. and we had neighbors come for dinner. Thank you again so much and we look forward with even more optimism to what we all can do to help those less fortunate.

The yellow and white buses that go thru town and go to San Juan stops at the corner on Rio Bravo about 100 feet from the restaurant. We are located on Rio Bravo #7 opposite Sol Y Luna. If this doesn't help then we will make you a better deal, make a reservation tell us where to pick you up and we will have you picked up and you can see for yourself what would be the best bus route for you. We will also have you returned safely.
