hensley
Robin Williams has passed in an apparent suicide at the age of 63. What sad news!

Ferret
I've loved Robin Williams ever since Mork and Mindy. Nanu, nanu Robin...wherever you are...you will be missed. Thanks for all the great laughs and thought provoking films.
ComputerGuy
When Robin did stand-up, before he was "discovered", he was perhaps the funniest man I've ever seen.

Pogo
this is in the mexico general section? plese explain the connection. Oh get over it! This is a community board about the life of the community. We often share our grief as well as our happiness. If you just can't stand that, go elsewhere. Cookie
He was funnier than most stand ups when he was just ad libbing while being interviewed. His mind was so quick. He leaves a gap that I doubt will ever be filled.
RVGRINGO
I really loved to watch him with Johnathan Winters. They bounced off each other so spontaneously.
Cookie
Yeah... Johnathan Winters was more like him that any other.... but he was still the funniest ever.
Guest bennie2
pogo, this board is for life in mexico, didnt know it was also a social board. this news is 24/7 world wide. he wasnt a mexican actor, so im not "getting" it.
Xena
You don´t need to "get it" Bennie. You also do not need to nag, whine and complain. If the postings are not suitable for this board, a mod will lock it. In the meantime, you are off topic--something you love to criticize others for. Travis
I was surprised to learn today just how popular Robin Williams was in Mexico. My Spanish teacher said that Facebook and other social media are full of comments about his death. I told my teacher that I was surprised because it seemed to me much of his comedy wouldn't be understood unless you were from the US (or places similar). He said he was famous for his film work, which makes sense. Sad news about an amazingly talented human.
hensley
this is in the mexico general section? please explain the connection. I didn't know where to post it and the Mods moved it to where they wanted it, fine with me.
Xena
Travis, a friend posted on Facebook that he asked a Mexican friend if she had heard Robin Williams died. The woman replied, "¡Ay, no¡ ¿Patch Adams?!”
Iron Sheik
Very sad indeed,,,,, He once mentioned Jonathan Winters was his hero. They actually have a skit with both of them making everyone laugh and laugh. I hope he is happy now,,,RIP

MtnMama
Here is an interview he did with John Stewart less than a year ago. It gives insight into some of his personal devils. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/08/12/1320932/-The-Daily-Show-Robin-Williams?detail=email RIP Robin Williams and thanks for all you gave us. Rony
I always found his sense of humour a little childish, but maybe it is because Europeans and Americans don't have the same sense of humour (I do like the Archie Bunker style, Bill Cosby, Wanda Sykes, .....). A lot of Americans think that the British comedies are not funny and I love them. Difficult to discuss tastes.
CHILLIN
The best cure for grief, and loss, is often a bit of laughter. Rony and Miss Virgina alone in Mexico City. Might appreciate what I think is a classic of European humor -"What's New Pussycat" 1965 http://www.moviequotes.com/repository.cgi?pg=3&tt=48403
