solajijic
Does someone have the directions and does it really cut time off the drive? I found partial directions under several topics but would appreciate the whole kiboodle. Thanks By the way we have room for a rider, leaving July 21 early AM straight thru to SAT. shirlppt
IMHO it doesn't. We used to drive from here to San Antonio via Laredo. Crossed the border at Laredo and pushed onto SAT because we don't like. Laredo. We now live in Donna, TX between McAllen And Harlingen. Pharr is quite a bit out of your way. BTW, we cross at Anzalduas to the US. Bypasses Reynosa (scary) and because it's a newish crossing, lightly traveled. Easy to get papers and continue on. Only busy on weekends when Mexicans come to shop in Mcallen. Just giving you our experience, others may feel different.
shirlppt
Sorry, I forgot. If you look at the map, it's pretty much the same route from here to Monterrey, then you go a bit west to Laredo, versus a swing east to Pharr.
Floradude
No, I would only use Pharr for shopping in McAllen or points east to the Gulf.
