R2D2
They were setting a roadblock and were even standing in the middle of the road, checking cars passing by , as if looking for someone. They were many, maybe 15 or more soldiers , this was at 2pm outside Soriana on the carretera to Guad .
kbiohio
I drove through at 1:15pm today, and there had to be close to 100 soldiers... some on the main boulevard, others on the service road & bridge, in Soriana's parking lot, and over along the sidewalk in front of the rastro

Michael Turner
Driving north past Soriana today about 1pm, all cars were stopped and checked. They opened the passenger door and looked inside the car and sent me on my way. They were clearly looking for someone.
Humbleclectic
8:00 pm tonight - even more spotted coming into Chapala. Large trucks with at least 50 per truck. Now it's a guessing game.
natbug
The reality is that the chances of us ever knowing is virtually nil...unless you have a close friend in the army who will spill the beans.

dearle
This is only hear-say but I spoke to some Mexican friends today and asked if they knew what's going on. They usually know what is happening. Apparently the Federal, State Police and Army are here because they is something going on with the Chapala Police. They said there was a meeting yesterday with the Chapala Chief. That's all I could find out.

Rony
2 days in a row, a police helicopter flew over Chapala and several times, I saw state and federal police trucks in Chapala centro (near the post office). So, we are in safe hands with army, federal AND state police here.
