lucky one
Is the permit that you get when you come to Mexico with your car renewable? I am referring to the law that says you must sell your car after you have lived here for five years.

bmh
There is no such law if you are on a temporary you can leave the country and reapply for a temporary from your own contry. If you are permanente you must have a Mexican plated car. tourists can keep getting permits
RVGRINGO
The temporary import permit for your car is not renewable, but you must notify Aduana (customs) whenever you renew or change your immigration status in Mexico. If you are a tourist on an FMM Visitante permit, you and your car may only stay in Mexico for up to 180 days. Neither are renewable in Mexico. If you are Residente Temporal and renew your visa, you must notify Aduana immediately. If you are changing from Residente Temporal to Residente Permanente, you may no longer drive a foreign plated car. A temporarily imported car may not be sold in Mexico.
