traderspoc Posted April 13, 2014 Report Share Posted April 13, 2014 Local kayak paddle sponsored by Jocotepec tourism Launch Chapala 9 AM arrive Jocotepec 1PM to 2PM or later for beginners Sunday April 13 th 2014 tomorrow Last year 42 kayaks paddled this year expect 50 to 60 kayaks 4 to 7 hour paddle. those who chose not go all the way will be picked up in San Juan Cosala. 9 members of the Lake Chapala Kayak Club will participate in paddle. about 25 or more members of the kayakchapala kayak group will be there fee $100 pesos. we arrive 7:30 Chapala, east side of Pier, for shuttle to drop off cars in Jocotepec. and return back to chapala by 9 AM kayaks should pass Ajijic about 10 AM 10:30 AM, some will stop at Maria Isabel restaurant if banos needed, if not we will be out about 1/2 mile form shore as we pass Ajijic. traderspoc Posted April 14, 2014 Author Report Share Posted April 14, 2014 it was a incredible send off in Chapala, youths marching, young children's band playing, mayor of Chapala spoke. the band played the Mexico, national anthem. Quite a event. free orange juice, water bottles, cut hickima, oranges and cucumbers, about 31 kayaks launched all shapes and sizes 10 where were from out Ajijic group we launched at 9:08 Am our group had a the fastest time Tony cam in at two hours and 55 minutes in Jocotepec. he was in a Mayan seas 16 ft kayak. the latest was 5 hours. from the Ajijic group of paddlers some kayakers came in at about 7 hours. long beautiful paddle. food was served in Jocotepec about 3 Pm chicken, beans and potatoes in a red sauce, very good, plenty of Jamaica to drink. kayaks were loaded up, and returned to Chapala where our cars were.
