Shelley Ronnfeldt
I need some little bags for Christmas treats, not too expensive. In the States at Christmas, they sell little Christmas edition Ziplocks, but I don't know if they do that here. Has anyone seen anything locally? Carolina
I would check any of the papelarias and ask for 'bolsas muy chicitas" (my Spanish may not be perfect, but that would definitely get the point across) ;-) ...or also check the "dollar store" across the street from the Ajijic plaza. Happy hunting!
bdlngton
Go to the "desechables" store on the main street of Chapala (just north of Surtidor) has different kinds of plastic bags for such things.
Travis
Are you talking about a little bag about the size of a softball, filled with candies and whatnot? If so, there is a very specific word for it in Mexico, and I'm pretty sure they are common during the posadas, and at other times. I think, but again not entirely sure, the word is bolo. I bet you can even buy them pre-filled with treats. I'd ask at a candy store.
RVGRINGO
Go to the "desechables" store on the main street of Chapala (just north of Surtidor) has different kinds of plastic bags for such things. That store is definitely the source for such disposable items, and a lot more. Ask, and you shall receive. The selection of items is huge. Do not miss the big candy store, either. Shelley Ronnfeldt
Thanks for all the suggestions. I was able to get some today at Superama in Guadalajara, so the search is over!
