Another Playaboy success story

Playaboy was able to take our Japanese Toyota to the border, clear the TIP and sell the car. On his return he gave us the receipt for the TIP. The price we got was fair when you consider the expense of getting the legal paper work, the cost of driving up to the border, the hassle of crossing the border and the time it takes to find a buyer. In our case he also purchased parts that were needed for schedule maintenance. We received the agreed sale price before he took the car north.

We have heard nothing but good things about playaboy as well (except maybe the lame name). We sold our Honda CR-V to a guy from Colorado who flew down and bought the car for a very fair price. Spencer issued a Power of Attorney for him to drive the car legally to exit Mexico. My FM2 doesn't expire until the end of this month, so Returno Seguro wasn't an issue. He will mail us the TIP to our Laredo address. This all saved us so much hassle, it makes us thankful to people like playaboy and, in our case, Rick for being the honorable capitalists that they are. May they prosper.

El Toro, how did you find someone in Colorado to buy your car and how did you get him to fly down?

We're going to sell our very low mileage 06 CRV as well, looking to get a decent price for it if possible and this might be the way.

Ironically, one of our options may be to replace it with the exact same "J" 2006 imported by a dealer. Nice racket these laws are for those guys.

Playaboy has a good business model. I have a friend who paid another friend a fee, plus expenses, to drive his 6 cylinder, 2007 Rav 4 back to Canada to sell. One month later.... it is still not sold. One friend is frustrated because they have spent a lot of time trying to sell a car that, it seems, few people are interested in. The other friend (car owner) is frustrated because he does not have his money. The used car business is a tough one. This definitely is putting a strain on both of them. In my opinion, it would be way better to get your money before the car leaves the country and leave the worries about selling to Playaboy
