Sailor
A friend of ours rented a small car at a rental car place at the airport. The rate for 9 weeks was $357.00. We can't remember the name of the place. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.
El Saltos
That sounds a very good price. Was insurance included? Maybe you could ask your friend?
RickS
"We can't remember the name of the place." There are more than 10 car rental agencies at the airport!
Mainecoons
When we last rented at the airport, the car rate was cheap but the insurance was a killer. However, it has been a long time, maybe things have changed a bit.

My friend couldn't remember the name is why I asked. But, I found it. www.cheapoair.com. lists Fox Car Rental at $5.00 per day. Does not include insurance but most people's insurance will cover it if not their credit card might. This is for a sub-compact car. You can upgrade for $1.00 a day or higher for different categories. Great deal.

Great deal. $5.00 per day would be a great price but I would really question the insurance situation. I really don't know but I sure would check to see if one's Mexican insurance would cover a rental car. I don't think it's like US auto insurance which covers you on any car you drive. I'm pretty sure a US or Canadian insurance policy wouldn't cover a Mexican rental. I would also question whether a US or Canadian credit card would provide insurance on a Mexican rental. Maybe a Mexican credit card provides insurance on a rental car but I have no idea since I have no Mexican credit cards. I know that when I have rented a car in Mexico in the past I paid quite a bit for insurance.
El Saltos
The "regular" car rental companies won't accept credit card insurance and won't rent to you unless you buy their overpriced insurance.
