ajijicbound
Is it possible to retrieve a program from your computer and put it on another without the original disc or appication? I have it on my computer but need to put it elsewhere too.
ComputerGuy
No, unfortunately. The only possible method is to make a "ghost image" of your entire hard drive, and restore it on the other computer. When a program is installed on a computer, most of it goes into its own folder. But a number of files get hooked into the system files area, and cannot be retrieved.
Viajero-Tiempo
What program and version Some actually are moveable. Or perhaps we can suggest alternatives
ComputerGuy
Yes, a very few are moveable. You are correct; I didn't ask... there are so many programs it can almost be impossible to know unless one has it oneself.
R2D2
Can't you download / install the program and just retrieve your info from the old computer ?
ajijicbound
The company I bought it from over 10 years ago is very slow to work with and I need the original cd to upgrade. I will keep looking or try to get my money back on the upgrade. Thanks.
ComputerGuy
What's the program name? Who knows, I might be able to help.
ajijicbound
What's the program name? Who knows, I might be able to help. It's Bead Creator and I'm upgrading to Pro
ComputerGuy
Hmmm... I had a customer a couple of years ago who needed that. We scoured the web for freeware programs; the Bead Creator program itself, as I recall, at that time did not have an upgrade available and was actually a pretty poor implementation. Except, of course, for those people who really needed it. The new versions are certainly not cheap. So you are saying that the Pro version at $249 still requires that you have the basic version installed?
ajijicbound
It's a great program and I got in when they were new so have special privileges that's why I need to scour the house for that program.
