Checking If Visa Has Arrived

Have handy the page issued by INM with your name and on it is the Pieza Number, NUT number (both begin with six "0's") and your Contrasena which is a password issued by INM.

1. http://www.inm.gob.mx/index.php/page/pagina_principal/en.html

2. click: Consult the Status of your Formality

3. The enter your Pieza and Contrasena and click: "Buscar"

The rest becomes obvious

If it says: SU DOCUMENTO MIGRATORIO HA SIDO EXPEDIDO. PRESENTESE EN LA DELEGACION DONDE REALIZO SU TRAMITE. This indicates your visa has been issued and to please come to the INM office.

When you go to INM take your passport and the page with NUT number and name.

Be aware that the day they say yuru document is ready may not be so, we have had a few people where the web site said ready come in and the document wasn't ready, even when we showed them that their system said it was. We check 2 to 3 days after it says ready unless it is urgent to avoid an unfruitful trip and waiting to ask just to find they haven't sorted the new cards yet.

On another note Chapala has received more cards last week so they should be ready to give out today.

As always Spencer, your information is invaluable and appreciated.
